World Pharmacists’ Day 2022
Theme: “Pharmacy United in Action for a Healthier World”
Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science-Tezpur on 25th September 2022 observed World Pharmacists’ Day.
The celebration began with a Street Rally, which was inaugurated by Dr. Abdul Baquee Ahmed, Principal of GIPS-Tezpur. Students and staff, including the Principal, participated actively in the demonstration from the college campus to Mission Chariali (Traffic Point). A street play was also performed there as part of the event.
Students put on a street play with the subject “Fight against Superstitions” which drew a large audience and conveyed a strong message to those in attendance.
A special program was hosted to mark the celebration of World Pharmacists’ Day at GIPS-Tezpur Auditorium Hall where the Chief Guest of the program was Mr. Rajeev Chouhan, Plant Site QA Head of Dabur India Ltd. Tezpur, and also the Retired/Serving Govt. Pharmacists were the special invitees to the program.
Dr. Abdul Baquee Ahmed, Principal of GIPS-Tezpur gave the welcome address followed by the speeches from the Chief Guest, Mr. Rajeev Chouhan, and special invitees, Mr. Himangshu Deka, Retd. Govt. Pharmacists.
The Special Invitees were given a felicitation program in recognition of their contributions to society as Government Pharmacists.
A Special Dance was performed by Smita Das and Smrity Moni Baishya of B. Pharm 5th semester.
The 2nd Issue of the GIPS-Tezpur Newsletter and 3rd Volume of Wall Magazine (“Pharmaxetra”), theme: The culture of North East India; “ঈশান্য” was inaugurated that same day in the presence of the Guests, Principal of GIPS-Tezpur, Faculties, staff, and students.
